Sing Out Loud 2018 - St. Canices National School - National Opera House 4

Every year, our 6th class students participate in the Sing Out Loud concert in the National Opera House in Wexford. Sing Out Loud is not your normal school concert, it is an exhilarating, fast paced and uplifting show!

The mission of the Sing Out Loud team is to give children an opportunity to fall in love with music and the arts in a fun and vibrant environment.

Sing Out Loud is back for its sixth consecutive year. This year will see close to 3000 primary school kids, from all around Co. Wexford starring across 12 performances, in what promises to be another fun filled, high energy and family-friendly show that will have you up singing and dancing along! It’s a great start to the Christmas season.

This year, Sing Out Loud is thrilled to introduce the talented and incomparable Gemma Sugrue (RTÉ Concert Orchestra and Jenny Greene; Electric Picnic) to Co. Wexford, where she will be picking up the baton as conductor. The ringmasters for the evening will be Tony Carty, Mags Jacob and Eric Hayes, and leading the live rocking orchestra will be the multi award winning Maestro, Fintan Cleary.

Joining the front line is the incredible rock tenor, Chris Currid (Disney Orlando, World of Musicals), Colm Lyndsay on guitar (Jake Carter, 3 Arena), the exhilarating troop from the Doyle Academy of Irish Dancers, Lynda O’Connor (Wexford Festival Opera Orchestra) and of course the one and only Extreme Rhythm will be there to exhibit their crazy and genius skills plus more surprise guests throughout the show!

Our sixth class students will practice their songs and will perform for the other classes too. They will go to Wexford on the afternoon of their concert and meet the other performers for a dress rehearsal – great fun is had by all! The teachers even get the opportunity to appear on stage as well – this is a show not to be missed!
