St. Canice’s National School has a long established Parents’ Association.
The aims of the Association are:
- To adopt a programme of activities that will promote the involvement of parents in the operation of the school, in consultation with the Principal.
- To foster educational partnership between home and school for the benefit of the children.
- To represent parents’ interests.
- To provide support for teachers.
- To promote the development of the school and its amenities.
- To advise the Principal or the Board on matters relating to the school.
Parents Association Events
October 2018
- School Marathon – A parents sponsored event – The Parents Association organise a sports fundraiser for the school.
- Halloween Disco – The Parents Association organise and run the Halloween Disco for all of the students in Rosbercon Parish Hall.
December 2018
- School Calendar – A business sponsored campaign; The Parents Association design and sell the school calendar.
February 2019
- Parents Talk/Workshop – An evening event for parents on supporting parents to support their children’s mental health and wellbeing, organised by the Parents Association.
March 2019
- Art Night – A showcase of all the students art work. The Parents Association provide refreshments for parents and students.
April 2019
- Easter Draw – A parents sponsored event – The Parents Association make up hampers and sponsor cards for students to win the hampers.
- Church Gate Collection – The Parents Association collect at church gate.
June 2019
- School Walk – A parents sponsored event – The Parents Association organise refreshments.
- Sports Day – The Parents Association provide refreshments and support the teachers with the sports day.
- School Play – The Parents Association provide refreshments and support the teachers with the school play.
