Second Class have had a busy start to the school year. We have been learning all about our locality in geography class. We learned about some of our local heroes – Olympic swimmer Grainne Murphy, Michael Stafford, otherwise known as singer Maverick Sabre, Kilkenny hurler Walter Walsh and Leinster and Ireland rugby player Tadhg Furlong. Check out the questions we would like to ask them in the pictures below. In maths we have been learning about 2D shapes and we created some wacky shape monsters. One of our history topics is Games in the Past. We have been playing ‘Go Fish’ and will be learning some old clapping games, marbles games and yard games this week. We are looking forward to our nature trip this Wednesday to the Wexford Wild Fowl Reserve and Raven Wood and have a trip to New Ross library coming up in a few weeks also. We hope everyone has enjoyed the start to the school year as much as we have.
